Location

The 2016 IEEE Workshop on Environmental, Energy, and Structural Monitoring Systems (EESMS 2016) will be held in the capital city of Apulia, Bari.
The City of Bari is the second most important economic centre of mainland Southern Italy, and is well-known for its port, its two Universities (Università degli Studi di Bari and Politecnico di Bari), as well as the city of Saint Nicholas.

The EESMS 2016 workshop will be held at the Centro Polifunzionale Studenti ("Ex-Palazzo delle Poste"), Bari, Italy. The meeting space is located in Piazza Cesare Battisti, 1, Bari, Italy;

Accommodation

The following are the suggested Hotels for the accommodation during the Workshop.
  • Palace Hotel
    The Palace Hotel is one of the most well-known luxury hotels in Bari. Located in the historic center of the City, right next to the seafront and at about 10 minutes-walk from the location of the Workshop, it is served by a restaurant called Terrazza Murat, which is located at the 7th floor of the building which hosts the Palace Hotel and offers a beautiful view of the City.

    These rates are available to the Attendees of the Workshop:
    - Single Room: € 94,00 per night
    - Double Room, single use: € 98,00 per night
    - Double Room: € 114,00 per night

  • Hotel Adria
    The Hotel Adria is located right next to the train station of "Bari Centrale", and at about 15 minutes-walk from the main site of the Workshop. It is one of the best three stars hotels in the whole City.

    The following rates are available until the 31th of March, 2016 for the Workshop Attendees:
    - Single Room: € 60,00 per night
    - Single Room, double bed: € 70,00 per night
    - Double Room, single use: € 85,00 per night
    - Double Room: € 90,00 per night

    The Victor Hotel is located right in front of the location of the Workshop, in the Center of Bari, at Via Domenico Nicolai.

    The Campus Hotel is located into the University Campus of Bari, at about 20 minutes-walk from the location of the Workshop.

    - Double Room: € 60,00 per night

    Room availability: only nights between June 12/13 and June 13/14.

Transportation

The City of Bari is easily reachable with any mean of transport.

By car

  • From and to Northern Italy: Motorway A-14 Bologna - Bari - Taranto
  • From and to the Eastern Coast of Italy (both north and south): S.S. 16 Adriatica
  • From and to Taranto: S.S. 100

By plane

Bari is served by the Bari - Palese airport. The second nearest airport is Brindisi - Casale. For those people arriving at Bari - Palese, it is really easy to reach the city by means of public autobuses (Linea 16 AMTAB) or private shuttles.
